What's that song with a comedian ranting to music?
Heard it last night, a rather cerebral comedian talks in a passionate diatribe over a hot r and b track - very odd fusion but the comedian was pointedly funny and the track was good. I'd had a few glasses of wine by the time it came on so I can't really offer any other details - any one know it? Thanx! What's that song with a comedian ranting to music?
i was thinking of tool - third eye, but obviously thats not R%26amp;B.moisturizer cream

Why does everyone rant about these teen pop superstars? Does anyone else feel like they're ruining music?
Miley Cyrus, the Jonas Brothers, and all the rest of these little wannabe musicians, who don't know what it means to be a rockstar, are tearing the fabric of music at the seams and will be the downfall of music, in my opinion. I feel like the music industry is targetting these dumb little middle school girls who don't know real music just to make a profit. The music industry is no longer for the music, its for the money, and that is what's going to destroy music. The moment I heard Rolling Stone magazine believed the Jonas Brothers have as much musical charisma as the Beatles was the moment music died to me. I just want to know if anyone else feels the same way. I don't want our generation to go down in history as the destroyed of music. What happened to the sense of music that the Beatles, Pink Floyd, Grateful Dead, Led Zeppelin, The Who, Hendrix, etc, had when they were making music? We've reverted back to the boring style of music of the 1950's. I don't know about the rest of you, but as an American, I hate our ethnocentricity and it's become so that our music scene is destroying the world. Your thoughts...Why does everyone rant about these teen pop superstars? Does anyone else feel like they're ruining music?
This is just my opinion... in a list!
**Just because they're young doesn't make them bad musicians.
**Again, because they're middle school girls doesn't make them have bad taste in music.
**They compared the Jonas Brothers to the Beatles?! What?! No way! One doesn't have to consider it for a second to figure out the Beatles are better by a long shot... to me. Not necessarily to everyone, or anyone, else. Whether or not one band is better than the other is a matter of opinion. However, I would say the Beatles did have a greater impact on music and the way it is today.
**The music industry was always in it for the money, wasn't it? Otherwise it'd be a non-profit. It's just less disguised nowadays.
**You have to admit, if there's something a middle school girl can do, it's spend money. Admit it, wouldn't they find it more appealing if someone they can relate to was successful than if someone who was ';cut out for it'; made it big? Sure, their music is far from the best, but the young girls like it if the person in question beat the odds they themselves have to beat. At least that's what I think.
**The sense of music with the classics? Guns and Roses, the Beatles, Bon Jovi? It's rare among today's youth. Even then, some are only in it because of Guitar Hero! Yes, that IS twisted. But you can't imagine how I felt when I found out other teens knew of Guns and Roses because they'd heard ';Welcome to the Jungle'; on television (and most likely played it on Guitar Hero) and considered the Jonas Brothers ';rock';.
In short, I don't like what music is becoming either, with all the gimmicks and whatnot instead of just the music. But the exchange between the market (in this case the music industry) and the consumers (in this case the youth) is such that it's an exchange, the youth controls what the music industry will sell and the music industry what youth will listen to. They wanted ';normal kids'; to ';make it big'; and they did. Before that they wanted good music, and they got it... but all the rockers are apparently broke now. So let's just hope this, like all other fads and trends, passes soon enough... hopefully in our lifetimes! And I say that as someone who just started high school. (I'm in tenth grade) Sorry that was long but, hey, you asked. Why does everyone rant about these teen pop superstars? Does anyone else feel like they're ruining music?
I think they're grow out of The Jonas Brothers and Miley Cyrus. Honestly, it's not a big deal. Everyone I know over the age of 13 despises them and I used to listen to Hilary Duff, but I turned out fine, in my opinion.
No matter what, there will always be music fans who are passionate about music and underground bands for them to discover and listen to.
why dont u stop letting it get to u, theyre KID bands. when people grow up they will move on to real music. those bands are put there for money and have been around as long as record companies have existed. to me it sounds like your living in the past. theres lots of good bands out now tearing up stages u just have to look and stop paying attention to what bands are popular.
did you just call Miley Cyrus and Jonas Brothers 'rock' stars?
because they are far from that, they are more like teen pop

Yeah I completely agree with you. A lot of my friends are obsessed with The Jonas Brothers and Zac Effron, and people who just want money. It's not just music-- people are in love with Edward Cullen (really in love)! He's A BOOK CHARACTER!
Musicians like that have been around for a very long time (Beach Boys, Tiffany, New Kids on the Block, Backstreet boys, etc) and have yet to ruin music.
Music can't die.
You gotta know that today music is just a way to earn easy money rather than releasing a good song with the purpose of just enjoying it!
So stick with the oldies man!
Yes, bad American music is destroying the world. Off with it's head!
You will find that some agree with that comparison between The Jonas brothers %26amp; The Beatles.
yes they absolutely are
mmm
No!!!!11
The Beatles and Pink Floyd ruin music, not us!!!
Dude, a lot of great music was made in the 50s.

A Rant of sorts: What are your thoughts on this sort of music?
This 'artist' called Candace Marie used to be a model but a record label realized she could sing so gave her a deal.
In just TWO days she went to a LA studio (with big-time producer John Shanks) and recorded eleven songs which made up her entire record in just TWO days.
She had zero creative input and saw the songs, literally, an hour before she recorded them and picked up a big pay cheque.
So what do you think of this cheap kind of music?
Would you buy it? Because somebody is.
: (A Rant of sorts: What are your thoughts on this sort of music?
I think it sux balls to be honest, but it doesnt surprise me record labels just wont take chances anymore they want to make big bucks and they arnt willing to gamble, for instance look at all the programs like pop idol americas idol wotever is going where you are from , these are testers to see will this music or person sell that simple, but it doesnt stop stupid ppl from watchin voting etc....
There are great musicians and artists out there that simply wont get a chance because of the sheep like behaviour of ppl and the fact they are letting the record labels and media tell them wot to wear buy eat sleep and $hit, ppl have stopped thinking for themselves and big business is taking an advantage of this.A Rant of sorts: What are your thoughts on this sort of music?
Nah, it's people like that, that have no real passion or creativity in 'their'; music that makes it suck.
Which is why I thank my mom for giving me a Monkees cd when I was younger.
True that i went on itunes and listened to it... pretty sure that was cool in like 2001 now it just sounds cheap!
%26gt;:\ I wouldn't be the one buying 'em. I follow the demographic of 45-60 year old men.
